with nvidia surround enabled, flash player weird things. notably text boldness , colors.   why? i'm not sure. i've tried different drivers them same thing. i've disabled hardware acceleration, can see there, still affects me. i've tried both firefox , flash betas. nada.   what can do?   edit1: note affects firefox, , not have problem in either ie or chrome, , while window in fullscreen. can acrobat xi installed on windows pc cs4 (which includes acrobat pro 9) installed?   i have been told adobe tech support applications included in cs4 cannot upgraded individually, , guess acrobat xi , acrobat pro 9 cannot coexist on same machine.  wanted check , make sure.   doug percival technology coordinator center effective government washington dc <removed moderator> they should able coexist. i have 2 computers, both dells, 1 less year old, 1 4 years old. both running 10.10, new 1 libreoffice, old 1 openoffice. today, both started rebooting unexpectedly , returning me login screen. did complete reinstall of 10.10 on older machine, , after hour or so, same problem again. problem happens (so far) when i'm running office software, , there no temperature issues either machine. it's incredibly frustrating, , weird--two different machines same problem out of blue, after clean reinstall? new software i've installed banshee , gpodder. buggy recent update? ideas? what last entries in /var/log/syslog before system reboots? installed ubuntu v. 11.10 , seems ok exceptions. main query. screen displays top left quarter of screen. graphics section indicates driver unknown. not see of icons 3 other quarters of screen not available, resist entry. space under top left quartile has indefined colour stripes. right hand half of screen black. 14&quot; screen , showing 640 x 480. if run usb stick rather hd it's full screen!!! do mean screen resolution extremely small , in 4:3. command line, xrandr , try , recognize monitor , allow set it, didn't work me. updated graphics card driver , unbuntu fixed itself.
