hello, have installed ubuntu alongside windows 7 on laptop. have tried connect wireless hub using correct key etc..... won't connect reason , saying connecting offline, ideas? double check connection info. different operating systems might assume defaults. check ssid , 'password' (key). make sure know whether asking english language password, or hex digits of key - quite few older wireless hubs didn't , remember having type in hex digits directly connect older wireless systems eg 'ea87ffbc0091' instead of 'p4sswerd' (this fault of wireless box, not operating system). check wireless settings - channel, authentication method etc (probably wpa2-psk on new netwotk, might wep or something. might idea in settings win 7 in case aren't had remembered them as. hi, have strange problem need help. have 2 video dvds cannot mount in ubuntu in 1 machine (machine a), when inserted can hear dvd drive grinding away dvds not mount. have no problem mounting , watching video dvds on machine in ubuntu except these two. have tried ubuntu 10.10 , 11.04 , both fail mount these 2 dvds on machine a. however, machine has small windows partition, 1 of dvds mounts , plays in wndows. ubuntu 11.04 installation portable, installed in external drive , can booted different machines. boot off older crappy laptop (machine b) , can play both dvds! since portable same ubuntu11.04 installation tested on both machines, settings , configurations same. sorry if bit confusing, basically 1) dvds ok since can play them in machine b 2) ubuntu ok since in machine b both play in ubuntu (11.04) 3)dvd drive in machine ok since have played dvds on many times in ubuntu. have never had problem except these two. 4) yet @ least 1 of them plays in m

we use contact enhanced (joomla extension) create member directory of registered users of website, , give each registered user ability edit member directory listing (which feature of contact enhanced). have contact enhanced set-up if user changes email address via front-end editing of contact enhanced (member directory) entry, automatically update core joomla user account/profile new email address. however, there doesn't seem way reverse of (go core joomla user profile email address -> contact enhanced) , therefore if don't prevent registered users being able edit user profile's email address, 2 can out of sync easily. however, don't want prevent access user profile entirely, since registered users go change password. any suggestions how can prevent registered users editing core joomla user profile email address? believe override of actual template file contains user profile information , remove email address template file, thinking there had better way? thanks

hi, a long time ago created profile plugin on joomla sites. https://docs.joomla.org/creating_a_profile_plugin it had worked , dont know @ point seems have happened. in added fields created option of required, optional or disabled set admin. noticed of 'required' fields show 'optional' in text shows on registration form. not optional , when user tries register comes error saying xzy required , continues until fields 'required' filled. i toggled , forth between 3 (required, optional, disabled) fields see if dif. disabled in fact removed field optional or required both showed same in front end optional in parenthesis. i went , looked @ profile.php file , shows 3 options. i have not changed plugin in ages.... any ideas have happened? how can fix it? thanks re-posting still having issue , shows optional (parenthesis next question) because still required not letting form go through. seems functionally working text showing in parenthesis next question (opt

so started using cs6, , know cs5 there used "dectect edges" option when trying text wrap around object shape. every time try text wrap in cs6, "contour options" menu "greyed out," , can't adjust text wrap. know how fix this? have screen shot below. happening in of cs6 documents, around psds , objects created in indesign. in screen shot have text frame selected. disable contour options. want select object want text wrap around, not frame holds text want wrap. i tried installing ubuntu 11.10 4 times tonight, , every time comes no network. know how fix wireless, need wire connection it. every install find , setup network card on install cd, boot os in has no network connection. in fact can find eth1 card. had boot os post thread. there way fix this? went network setting can't see set up. know mac address, , setting no put them in. can't install network software without getting connected first. i mark thread solved though had fix hard way. installed 11.04 network on wire setup wireless. have going upgrade 11.10 or maybe wait until 12.04 beta comes out next month. planned on doing bug reporting on next release.
