Thread: How do I Import Ubuntu user settings & applications into Xubuntu

i used run ubuntu gnome , thought try upgrade 11.10. upgrade left me unable desktop or terminal in recovery mode. on someone's advice decided try installing xubuntu on top, went fine except during install process, said there problem restoring applications. prompted create new user, did, , expected, fresh install. however, ls /home shows both william (the new user) , williamgunn (the old user, files , data intact. xubuntu & xfce , think i'll stay here, ..

there easy way restore applications used have installed? happen if copied contents of /home/williamgunn/ /home/william?

n00b question.

you should copy things .thunderbird , .mozilla , pictures, music & documents .
copying whole folder might confuse new operating system.

should careful installing apps , might drag in gnome stuff , mess things up........ try apps come xubuntu might surprise you.

Joomal 3.6.3 update error - PHP temporary folder is not set - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
