was fooling around gparted , clonezilla can not mount 1 of drives. bios sees fine. passes tests on disk manufacturer's live diagnostic cd. if ls /dev/sd* shows /dev/sdb when try mount says "can't find /dev/sdb in /etc/fstab or /etc/mtab" ?? two things: 1) can't mount harddrive (except in rare cases, drive 1 big partition) 2) need specify mount point if you're using mount command e.g. code: sudo mount /dev/sdb1 /mnt now, if don't have partitions (e.g. sdb1, sdb2, sdb5, etc) on drive, you'll need make 1 (unless drive 1 of rare cases mentioned above). hpefully points in right direction , can sort self out there, if you're still struggling understand why can't mount it, post output of: code: sudo parted -l here. i doing fresh install of joomla 3.6.4 on fresh install of centos 7 minimal server. the issue having "configuration.php" not writeable. install go through , give screen @ end of install. this ain't happening(arrgg) i know linux / know joomla - not first rodeo confused why happening. all files have been chown'd apache:apache i have gone extent of chmod 777 each of dir: /www/ {domainname.ca} /joomla (don't hate me - had try every) i have created "configuration.php" file in /joomla directory , chmod 777 , confirmed apache:apache. virtual host file points /var/www/{domain_goes_here.ca}/joomla , works normal index.html file. localhost via links shows apache kicking along works outside i have physical access server, though doing via ssh. -- thoughts? let me know if there log can post -- david ps - know how search forum , limit results 2014/15/16 http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=621&t=582860 gives @ least server overview , more leo
