Thread: Creating shortcuts invlolving the mouse

hi,

wondering if there anyway can create shortcut change volume by: holding left click on mouse + mouse wheel down/up turn volume or down.

have become accustomed using volumouse on windows platform, offers feature, , become habit now. wondering if there way above.

in advance

unfortunately there's no easy way remap mouse buttons under variant of linux, , it's harder ti non-standard functinoality such volume control.

xorg, part of display stack responsible controlling mouse. keyboard, etc iterction system, expacted mouse have functionality attached each button. example, expects first button on mouse used selecting things on screen, second 1 (a click of scroll wheel in many cases) pasting, , third 1 (the right button) context menu. can, without inordinate amount of hassle, remap these particular features different buttons, , there ways mice , running have more 3 buttons.

attaching mouse input non-standard features such volume may wuite problematic, unfortunately don;t know more that. there links on subject of mouse remapping may find useful. sorry couldn't give actual solution.
