Thread: Power and overheating/fan problems with ubuntu 11.10

hello all,

have been experiencing weird problems after installed ubuntu using wubi(however spelled). first problem very obvious power problem. windows 7 4-5 hours of battery life. on ubuntu, around 1 1 hour , half of battery life. second problem noticed fan, have no clue why on high, , goes out.

have windows 7, alienware m15x. specs:
i7-2820qm processor
nvidia geforce gt 555m
2nd generation core processor family integrated graphics c(integrated graphics card)

want mention in windows have auto switching feature switches between video cards. if i'm browsing or doing more "light" activities, integrated video card working, if heavy, nvidia card kicks in.


love how fast , neat ubuntu is, need fix these problems or laptop's life drained

can please help?

Joomal 3.6.3 update error - PHP temporary folder is not set - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
