Thread: 2-stage CD ripping ?

hi guys,

having built pretty god media server, i'd (finally) rip cds it. i've got spec machine can use client server. seems me cd ripping software insists on encoding rips - takes lot of time sitting @ client.

there software tool rip natively (.wav files ?) disk. can set media server encode compress (i thinking of ogg format - that's flac) overnight/many days job.

i not sure if server "mount" audio cd gnome does, if can read files on disk way, should possible copy them across folder *.wav files , transcode want later.

have no idea if wav files still contain data , information ripper gets tracks in normal way, or if work @ all, throw out possible option more seriously.
