Thread: amd64 upgrade 10.04 to 11.10 aptitude suggests 87 removals of core packages
after multiple do-release-upgrade 10.04 11.10 on amd64 server, aptitude complains problem dependencies.
shown below partial list of 87 suggested removals, of these seem core packages , quite strange wants remove them.
think there's problem multiarch support.
consider wants remove zlib1g, required package.
drilling down in zlib1g package shows strange under predepends/ multiarch-support.
why 2.13-20ubuntu5 shown 'p'? there's no package name can find, think it's part of libc-bin.
have re-installed libc-bin doesn't help.
/etc/dpkg/dpkg.cfg.d/multiarch has:
