Download using a product key from a purchased product from the store.

i purchased adobe elements use on desktop. downloaded , installed purchased macbook air , want install program onto computer. computer not have disk drive. told should able download programs use product key box not see option adobe elements. downloaded trial version in hopes of being able convert using product key. have words of wisdom me resolve issue?

is desktop mac?  believe licenses whichever elements software refering platform specific.  if both mac machines, have tried installing on macbook air , encountered problem doing so?
