Thread: removing an application, but it still remains?

hi i'm trying remove ruby , gems can reinstall rvm, i'm having hard time.

updated new distro (11.10), maybe that's pertinent.

gave command
$ sudo apt-get autoremove gem

, said removed, if ask for:

$ gem -v
remains 1.3.7

, if ask

$ gem

returns /usr/bin/gem


why happening , how can remove application (the same thing happening ruby, not rails).

try running

code:

sudo apt-get remove ruby && sudo apt-get autoremove

, should remove ruby.
