Thread: Sharing a system with Intel Z68 chipset / Smart Response Technology
hi,
i've bought new ssd speed system, partly due fact recent motherboard (an asus p8z68-v) has built in support using solid state drive cache of mechanical drive. have 2 1tb hitachi drives in system. have got windows 7 installed , have enabled caching using 64gb of new ssd.
use remaining space on ssd ubuntu system partition, partitions on mechanical drives used areas such /srv , /home. i'm getting getting installed. i've been working on motherboard xubunu , ubuntu studio 11.04, fails install grub, complaining can't access /dev/md127. i've tried installing xubuntu 11.10 disc, install mechanical drive, not offer me ssd during installation. fails add windows installation grub menu.
have experience feature of intel's latest chipset? i'm keen give linux install performance boost new drive windows system...
i'm having same problem.
i'm trying in vain install ubuntu 12.04 on 47gb raid volume left spare on 112gb ssd, using dmraid detect , mount it, giving me dual-boot system: raid volumes detected, not partitions within.
appear falure within dmraid.
perhaps fact controller creates raid0 "array", consisting of single volume causing dmraid break or mis-report, or something.
wrong?
here experience of using dmraid installations care add this?
managed set , run dual-boot system windows vista , gutsy couple of years ago, running single (intel) raid0, broken 3 volumes, each sub-partitioned.
