Thread: Can't use Second mounted hard drive

hi, did fresh install on system 11.10 went well.
got 2 hard disc both sata 1 250g other 120g.
plan use smaller 1 save back-ups , store pictures , music files.

both discs got ext4 file system small disc mounts on boot cant create folders (option "greyed out") or move files (by cut , paste or attempting save file directly it), if try open "lost&found" folder in following message:

not have permissions necessary view contents of "lost+found".

have idiots guide need able use/access disk.

many ....cherryredz

you don't have permissions because root owns drive.

need give other users permissions root. (by mean use root give permissions on drive, not give user root permissions, second bad)

@ output of
ls -l /path/to/mount

read along lines of

drwx------- root root .....

means root can read, write, execute (rwx), group can nothing (first ---), other can nothing (---) , there's 1 holds information.

i'm not sure permissions want, unless tell want able can't much. , in general lost , found owned root , not allow users in it.
