Thread: Stopping Nautilus from drawing desktop

how stop nautilus drawing desktop? have downloaded , installed gconf-editor nautilus not show under apps drop down. know can launch nautilus command line 'nautilus --no-desktop', i'd prefer way permanently disable function if possible

suggestions

what's ubuntu version, , how of gnome have installed? if you're using 11.10, there's switch file management on desktop in gnome-tweak-tool, , separate 1 in dconf-editor under org>gnome>desktop>background toggle whether or not gnome draws desktop image @ all. don't have lxde installed, disabling dconf key might work.
