Thread: Can't change default applications

hi, i'm trying change default music player guayadeque on system info cant select other option other selected vlc.

im going assume on 11.10, it's way guayadeque installing that's keeping out of list.

there's little gained, if want show in dash's "listen music" icon.

that's want pretty simple -

starters go ahead & switch vlc in system info > default applications > music, know file & line present.

after in terminal

code:

gedit  ~/.local/share/applications/mimeapps.list

in [default applications] sections you'll see line

audio/x-vorbis+ogg=vlc.desktop

replace vlc.desktop guayadeque.desktop line -

audio/x-vorbis+ogg=guayadeque.desktop

save & close gedit & restart, (not log out/in
you'll have guayadequ in dash - screen
ref. screen 2 shows list in gedit
