Thread: Impossible to power off my PC since I upgraded to 11.10

i using mother board asus m4a89gtd pro/usb3 amd phenom6.

using ubuntu 11.04 64 bits without problem, except issue while using sculptris under wine.

upgraded 11.10 64 bits weak dream solve this. process looked ok until final restart when had trouble message "configuring network failed". changed ethernet cable pci board integrated connection , started.

didn't make exhaustive test, neither performance test, have tested seems ok.

problem pc not shutdown. sessions stops, usual black screen information, after 1 second, returns login screen, , shutdown command seems have no effect.

still possible open new session.

used hardware shutdown (2 seconds on power on/off) when restart needed several trials succeed (another configuring network issue, boot frozen...).
there can try solve this, before go 11.04?

some more information:
used command "sudo shutdown -h -p now" console, , pc shut down quickly. maybe because when start again, got usual setup screen, useless flashing information screen, , got stuck before ubuntu 5 dots appear. have wait few minutes without success, reset board hw button. boot stopped in grub screen, asking select linux version. choose latest one, , ubuntu 11.10 wake up. xp laptop has better operating modes )
