i installed ubuntu dual os xp. wireless doesn't work , have read exhaustively subject. have broadcom bcm4311 vendor id of 14e4:4312. i've downloaded ndiswrapper cell, since have no internet connection, , transfered file ubuntu desktop. how unzip , install this??? also, after 15 min of use, freeze, everytime. how can access log of sort or have suggestions on how fix. after reading, suspect need update kernal......i've downloaded linux headers, image , i386, deb files, believe update, how install this??

dont need ndiswrapper device, can remove safely:

sudo modprobe -rf ndiswrapper  sudo apt-get remove --purge ndiswrapper-common ndiswrapper-utils-1.9 ndisgtk  sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/ndiswrapper.conf  sudo rm -r /etc/ndiswrapper/*   sudo depmod -a  sudo update-initramfs -u

the driver b43 device needs firmware installed (attached). save "tar.gz" "downloads" , unpack via:

sudo tar xvf ~/downloads/broadcom_firmware.tar.gz -c /lib/firmware/

reboot
