Thread: HP Mini 2102 & 210 ClickPad Broken again 11.10

well decided upgrade 11.10 11.04 , clickpad broken again. regretting upgrade since took me weeks working in 11.04 , previous patches not work except psmouse addition modprobe.

many other things seem fixed in 11.10 seems basic feature still broken 2 years later me. fedora , suse distros seem have solved , suse in fact patches came 11.04 fix not skilled enough go , add them 11.10 default synaptics driver.

added old "options psmouse proto=exps" line /etc/modprobe.d/psmouse.modprobe config file of course disables synaptics driver , cripples clickpad basic functionality.

might seem minor thing many, not being able use basic input features on main computer enough of headache going have explore other distros until can fixed.

dual boot win7 since came mini , have use work until can find better linux solution. have invested lot ubuntu , continue use on server , computer not worth reduced functionality on depend on 100% of time.

if have hp mini 2102 or 210 recommend not doing upgrade @ time.

just when had given hope, began downloading suse , wasted 6 hours on this, found patch sergio faria created.

puts me original functionality had 11.04. 1 word of warning have been using psmouse fix. when load fix disables synaptics driver , not benefits of patch. think mistake many made previously. had never used psmouse hack before makes sense why people did not see same benefits did previously.

have faith again may fixed in future.
