i've been running ubuntu 11.04 64 bit , 32 bit on acer aspire windows 7 laptop , compaq presario xp desktop couple of months both usb boot drive , dvd.

desktop boots classic, otherwise seems run same.

can read , write drives

laptop picture quality on crystal eye webcam not good under ubuntu 11.04 windows 7.

laptop touchpad - vertical scroll not recognized , cursor jumps around more under windows 7.

pretty satisfied, running firefox, thunderbird lightning , several other addons.

windows xp desktop - compaq presario
not either dvd 64 bit ubuntu 11.10 or usb drive run on desk top @ all. usb drive not boot , dvd starts, screen looks before loading , checkered boxes appear around left , top borders , not load.

laptop
webcam may little better, have test in different light.
if boot usb, can't write ntfs drives, if boot dvd can write ntfs drives.


not sure because of desktop. may wait next release , see happens. strategy have usb boot drive , data drive can use on multiple pcs.

disappointed 11.10 not work on desktop when 11.04 worked in classic mode. have changed 2d on laptop , try again on desktop , report back.
