Thread: Booting suddenly fails
hi,
'simple' problem: since yesterday, laptop won't boot. last things did installing updates , uninstalling unity, don't think that's caused problem.
far choosing linux version , getting first ubuntu splashscreen. after that, happens:

waiting 5 minutes doesn't help.
friend of mine who's more entire programming stuff got far finding out there 'chip id error' somewhere, don't know how found or means.
also, thinkfan problem not it, guess. i've had before week ago , didn't keep pc booting.
booting in recovery mode doesn't work either, freezes @ same spot.
i'm running on tp x220t, in case matters.
, ideas appreciated. try keep newb-friendly though! (:
if alt+ctrl+f2 working terminal can login at?
if "sudo service lightdm start" @ terminal working login screen, if replace lightdm xdm? gdm?
