Thread: Deinstall one of two Ubuntu copies

hello!

have 2 ubuntu copies located @ 1 hard drive. first copy located in /dev/sda1. ext4 bootable partition. second partition container logical partitions. devided 3 logical partitions. first logical partition ext4 fs type , contain second copy of ubuntu. 2 other partitions swaps ubuntu first , second. how can safely remove second ubuntu copy , allocate disc space first ubuntu copy?

thanks!

if allocating space mean extend /dev/sda1 include space, it's not simple. first need delete partition containing second copy of ubuntu. once unallocated space, need shrink extended partition /dev/sda2 doesn't include unallocated space.
once unallocated space "outside" of extended partition, have extend /dev/sda1 include it.

easier option format partition second ubuntu, run sudo update-grub grub delete second copy boot menu, , use newly formatted partition separate mount point, example /data. accessible main ubuntu.
