Thread: Password at 11.10

hello,
updated ubuntu 11.10 , problem has occur on both computers. root password has changed , have no idea what... updated still work can not install anything. have tried reset password using following instructions , not work, password not reset.

tried find else problem failed, know do. see need format hard drive , new installation prefer not to.
other problems has occur @ same time, example can not move files usb computers or save files on other computers (read file server) @ network.

please... know do.

there should no root password root account default locked in ubuntu.

user if installed should sudo user , perform admin (root) task use sudo, read rootsudowhere password required own user password if in sudo group.
