Aligning letters.

hi all; having issue lining letters create smooth line.

using myriad pro text. letters in question 'n' , 'h' - both lowercase. working in cs6.

hopefully these pictures explain issue:

 

when viewed actual size (100x)

 

when viewed zoomed (400x)

 

so question is: there way align them perfectly? or known impossible in illustrator? there workaround?

using smart guides, may try to:

 

1) create copy of each letter , type>create outlines,

2) group each live , outlined letter (you may select outline , object>path>add anchor points),

3) move 1 group appropriate anchor point (which may 1 in middle) of outlined letter snap corresponding anchor point of other outlined letter,

4) ungroup , delete outlined letters;

5) zoom in , enjoy or shudder.

 

that may close can get.
