Media Browser Refresh Rate?

hello all!
is there way speed file refreshing in media explorer? i'll open folder sound design effects, , takes 2 minutes before i'm able preview of files (because allows previewing of files knows duration of.) have "enable dmls format support" unchecked in preferences, , it's still pretty slow. on both of computers. 1 being windows xp computer 3gb of ram, , other running windows 7 64-bit 8gb of ram.
any appreciated!

how many files looking @ at time?

Upgrade 3.4.8 to 3.5.1 failed "download package failed" - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
