Adobe Reader - hyperlinked local docx - opens IE instead
i have material prepared in word 2007 using windows xp pro sp3. in word docx have placed several hyperlinks other local documents , websites. have saved docx .pdf because cannot afford adobe acrobat. , saved .pdf should able preserve hyperlinks. but...
links web work fine. links local document system not. there 2 issues:
- when click on link local document, adobe box appears begging me allow.
notice "remember" box checked pdf documents. don't know should set .docx left be. happens after l allow browser (ie8) starts , shows me home page (google). on system, i've check associations , .docx files set launch word, not browser.
is security issue? take @ security (enhanced) panel:
this interferes workflow (d'ya think?) set trying adobe obey. note fact i've told adobe reader set specific docx "priveleged location" meaning has trust. i've turned buttons , checkboxes off , same results. launches browser , doesn't provide typical "open / save / cancel" windows dialog.
2. now, when kill reader , try again, reader still insists on putting "allow / block / cancel" though told remember. why that?
so, can advise next step on both these annoying occurances. i'm computer literate. can dabble in registry if needed. please let me know need do.
svdp
for security warning, check trust manager settings in preferences.
as why local link opens ie, baffled. how insert link in word?
