Rotating a single pattern swatch

i trying work out how rotate pattern swatch without rotation affecting other pattern swatches on palette. don't want rotation apply 1 instance of fill, want edit actual swatch whenever used in future, rotation applied.

 

i have tried obvious - eg going object, transform, pattern only... , works, rotates other swatches; , can't work out if it's rotating object or if it's updating pattern swatch orientation.

 

additionally directed comprehensive , helpful tutorials on making patterns using updated cs6 software - i've found far raises further questions me. i'm talking about, example, being able change width or rotation of stripe within pattern , have still tile seamlessly.

 

i'm using cs6 on pc. thanks....

could please post examples of artwork when experience problems?

 

about rotation of tiles: drag pattern swatch onto artboard, rotate there , drag back. not entering pattern editor should easiest in case.

 

everyting technical nature of patterns still apllies pattern swatches (e.g. invisible rectangle in background)
