Thread: 32-bit and 64-bit side-by-side issues?

hi all,

i'm new ubuntu. installed 10.04 project i'm working on here, but, unbeknownst me, needed 32-bit, , installed 64-bit instead. since had space, decided install 32-bit on new partition, alongside 64-bit version, safeguard against losing data. followed instructions @ http://linuxologist.com/1general/how...rent-settings/

realize bad idea, installation looks 64-bit stuff, seems, specifically, when run sudo apt-get update, error message:
w: failed fetch cdrom://ubuntu 10.04.3 lts _lucid lynx_ - release amd64 (20110720.1)/dists/lucid/restricted/binary-i386/packages.gz

considering says "release amd64" , "binary-i386", think screwed up. ways fix it?

in advance!
