Issues when installing 2.5 for a theme/template then upgrading to 3 - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have sack of themes/templates 1 of websites sells either single themes or subscription access lot, , have "quickstart" packs, set demo is, can pick , go , edit around base have created demo.

these done replicating same behaviour fresh joomla 3 copy theme/template installed take time... lot.

trouble is, of quickstart packs joomla 2.5. wasn't problem until ran php upgrade on linux vps running cpanel... i've tried installing quickpack, have 3 errors iconv_set_encoding functions/depreciated functions , cannot past first language step of installer @ all.

i use these quickstart packs save significant amount of time on large batch work/multiple sites. must make clear have every intention upgrade 3 - thankfully in previous cases, nothing changes in such upgrade , front end looks same 2.5

is there way still able use 2.5 (to install packs), or have accept fact 2.5 gone , outdated , deal it?
