How can I cut a shape from a series of parallel lines?
i have series of parallel lines want cut floral shapes from. don't want mask them because when shape made, want ends of lines rounded. thanks!
marc,
if use illustrator, may:
1) select lines , floral shape object , pathfinder>divide;
2) while pressing shift key, click each of (topmost) straight segments within floral shape direct selection tool, ctrl/cmd+c+f+x+f, , group.
you may move group made in 2), or may lock , delete rest.
wherever floral shape has been curved there outgoing handle has no effect on straightness of path or on end caps; may click ends convert anchor point tool if wish rid of handles.
there easier way if want lines cut after actual floral shape (different angles, or ends curved).
