Thread: Not able to boot ubuntu from usb
i have made bootable usb stick using unetbootin. have used 11.10 iso. when restart won't boot usb stick.
win7 usb boot stick works fine, seems have set correct bios settings.
have ideas?
well ill piggy-back u (i gonna start own thread ill paste here).....
guys, need serious help. i'm lost. while attempting fresh installation of ubuntu 11.10 (oneiric ocelet) bootable usb stick, received notification read this:
"an attempt configure 'apt' install additional packages cd failed"
once install complete, i'm prompted restart comp. realize comp still set boot usb priority, re-edit bios boot 'hatachi 356##$%$5' (wutever) first, afterwards, after restarting comp, stuck on blank screen cursor blinking away in top left corner (i can't type anything). hangs there indefinitely! wtf! because of apt error? i don't have necessary applications boot up? how resolve this? can still boot usb bit there's not enough space ....so i'm pretty stuck! connected wifi, retrieving packages shouldn't issue.
if u deem necessary ridicule lack of thechnological prowess, lol -fine ....as long u me! ....but if ur not gonna me, please take somewhwhere else
note: i'm trying download other ubuntu versions try everytime try download, halfway thru i'm told don't have enough space. says have 10.3mb left ....but i'm running sd, know has way more space on it. use 'disk usage analyzer' , sure enough, still have 7.7gb left on sd ....but '/' folder 100% full 29gb , /cdrom 83% full 24.2gb! if more space needed, why isn't taken 7.7gb first?
wuts going on how fix it?
