Thread: Wireless Connection Not Successful

i have dell xps l502x laptop. have installed ubuntu 11.10 along windows 7 in it. have 3 major problems in ubuntu.

1. battery gives around 3 hours of backup when using windows 7 , gives 1 hour backup using ubuntu when charged fully.

2. have dsl internet connection , have adsl modem + router has 4 lan ports , has support wlan also. utstarcom model no. wa3002g4. problem can connect internet through wi-fi in windows 7 couldn't in ubuntu.

3. laptop comes nvidia graphics processor along 1gb of graphics memory. when install nvidia graphics drivers, , when open kubuntu (kde in ubuntu), kde plasma theme not working properly. screen transformation slow.

faced same problems ubuntu 11.04 , 10.10

please me solve these problems. waiting solutions. thank you....

2. big problem, you'll need more research on ubuntu forum - topic networking , ask specific questions there
3. driver in ubuntu video chipset may not latest or fastest, meaning might not tuned work specific chipset. many vendors not release specs chips, have build free open source equivalent driver tough without specs, hence slower performance or not features may implemented.
