grub- error: no such partition grub rescue>
following error has been plaguing me.
here goes:
had sony vaio laptop windows on 1 partition , ubuntu in use on other. had enough , restarted laptop load windows @ bottom of screen after pressing options button during reload. there had message above, have read many threads unreal nothing helping me. have no disk , no usb anytging load or boot from. complete novice, have done follows
grub> rootnoverify (hd0,0)
grub> makeactive
grub> chainloader +1
grub> boot
rootverify did nto work replaced set root=(hd0,0) work type make active unknown command
not grub says
grub rescue>
, ls details
(hd0)(hd0,2)(hd0,1)
have tried sudo,lido,mbr , others come across , unknown command
pls can understand rambling , me?
else needed or can without standard boot cd??

welcome ubuntu forums. sorry issue brought here.
did uninstall ubuntu? i'm having difficulty understanding did when 'had enough'.
if ubuntu still installed on either sda1 (hd0,1) or sda2 (hd0,2), may able boot. if it's not on either of partitions, aren't going able grub rescue prompt.
prompt means grub information found bios points partition or files grub cannot find. can't load modules boot or other os's unless can find files.
can see on sda1 , sda2 running following commands:
if don't have valid ubuntu installation, going need cd or bootable thumb drive of sort (windows, ubuntu livecd, boot repair cd, supergrub, systemrescue cd, etc).code:ls (hd0,1)/ ls (hd0,2)/
