Thread: how to create an exisiting partition on a running ubuntu system


hi,

possible create partition. have pc using ubuntu , create small partition because of windows xp things.

tried partition managers , can't seem make work. won't let me create partition hd ubuntu system resides. hope still possible

partition disk, can use gparted, example. gparted not part of default ubuntu installation, on livecd. (there dedicated, gparted only, livecd, too.)
you'll need livecd partition disk holding ubuntu system, since, in order sort of thing, disk cannot mounted. in other words, far know, it's impossible partition disk you're running system from. luck!
