Thread: HP DV6t fn Brightness Keys Don't Work

hello,

have hp dv6t-6000 quad edition switchable intel sandy bridge / radeon 6770m graphics. upgraded 11.10 no issues... use vgaswitcheroo turn off radeon graphics, , worked fine except brightness function keys.

after research, i've found adding following /etc/default/grub gets brightness keys working in both gnome shell , unity.

in file, find line

code:

grub_cmdline_linux=""

and set to

code:

grub_cmdline_linux="acpi_backlight=vendor"

then, in terminal, run

code:

sudo update-grub

hope saves time.
