Thread: Installing GTK+ from Software Center (with C)

i've searched forum , found many references similar sounding titles, saw didn't seem answer basics looking for. went gtk+ project page , saw gtk+ needs libraries (provided there tar files - these recent versions of today):

however, given importance of gtk, assume pre-installed os - developer version mean, not runtime libs apps. able find seems python binding libs, intend work c prefer it, , it's native gtk+.

questions:

(1) (probably) have above libraries installed (under different/same name) ? i'm fine whatever older version ubuntu kind enough offer via route - rather deal dependencies myself

(2) if not, or if other libs need installed develop: else need install, again, preferably software center?

(3) less important: read once more serious glade recommended obvious reason (i did find glade in software center). else should consider installing?

many thanks.

system:

toshiba netbook
ubuntu 10.04
kernel version 2.32ish
gnome based system

for gtk need libgtk2.0-dev, should install need. not sure glade, though...
