Is Joomla right for me? - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i'm investigating various cms replacements our website, can learning curve.. joomla i'm little concerned, maybe don't know enough yet.

our current website has 'categories', each category has page multiple sections , menus link articles within category.

the articles of types, news, content, journal, publications, events, videos, , more.. have own template displays content , meta data in layout, depending on type.

i see no 'content type' concept within joomla yet, maybe it's there - when searching find addon
https://www.joomlart.com/documentation/ ... ntent-type

another consider core feature, not find preview button - found addon provide it.

i not comfortable consider core features being 3rd party plugins, if joomla requires security update, perhaps plugin may become outdated or stop working.

i appreciate thoughts on matter, whether haven't delved deep enough joomla - or whether largely plugin dependent feature enhancement?

thanks

i think assessment "largely plugin dependent feature enhancement" correct. bad thing?

while true joomla upgrade obsolete extension, joomla developers , users adding necessary features through extensions beats having bloated core "features" not needed every website.

i offer support of recent separation of weblinks component core.

i don't mean suggest joomla best choice, extensions make joomla powerful platform is.
