Thread: mounting issue


hi everyone,

let me introduce myself i'm zoobie , i'm french. please note i'm noob in linux , ubuntu.

need i'm facing following issue.

please note have installed ubuntu 11.10 64 bits , i'm using webmin 1.570 administer remotely server.

have 2 hd of 3tb each of them have splited in partitions of 1tb, , have created 3 raid1 drive of 1tb , have mounted them in media folder please find below extract of fstab:


/dev/md127p1 /media/media3 ntfs defaults 0 0
/dev/md125p1 /media/media1 ntfs defaults 0 0
/dev/md126p1 /media/media2 ntfs defaults 0 0

on drive have following folder structure:

/media1/a/
/media2/b/
/media3/c/

when i'm trying access drive graphic interface in nautilus working /a folder located on media1 try access drive through console when input following command:

user$@nas:/media/media1$ dir result i'm seeing folder b/ located under nautilus on media2 drive not on media1 seen trough console. in same way folder /a located on drive media3 whereas in nautilus folder shown on drive media1.

question simple, how can have nautilus view , console view aligned ?

  1. do not use /media fstab use, /media system folder things gnome desktop use mounting things - use /mnt mounting.
  2. your drives not being mounted correctly, use
    code:
    mount
    see being done.
