RDS and SSL

hi everybody,

i'm trying configure cf environment using adobe coldfusion10 on mac mini running lion server , on client site cf builder 2.0 on mb pro running mountain lion 10.8.3. webserver uses self-created root certificate ssl connection. simple .cfm files copied webroot manually displayed other .html or .php sites uploaded server (which assume means connector working properly). cf administrator website working fine using https:// connection @ port 443.

the main problem i'm running is, when i'm trying configure remote server in cf builder (… defining port 443 ssl connection) status of configured server "running" when option rds "enable ssl" disabled. when try connect sample databases in "rds dataview" settings following message:

an error has occurred. see error log more details.

for input string: "<!doctype html public "-//ietf//dtd html 2.0//en">

<html><head>

<title>400 bad request</title>

</head><body>

<h1>bad request</h1>

<p>your browser sent request server not understand.<br />

reason

when i'm enabling ssl option server status turns "stopped". rds dataviewer prompts following message:

"peer not authenticated"

so i'm absolutely stuck here , don't know or start solving problem. can me out here. advice highly appreciated.

i’d recommend first @ apache log on server see requests being sent server, under both situations, , confirm both expect, , if log may show more details what’s going on. request /cfide/main/ide.cfm.

then @ cf 10 request log. many don’t realize it’s there, yes requests handled cf10 logged additionally in log in \[instance]|cfusion\runtime\logs localhost_access_log.yyyy-mm-dd.txt. , yes, calls via rds main.ide.cfm logged there. if not, they’re not getting cf (which may point issue apache).

of course, there possible problem client side, perhaps either in cfb itself, or in local machine firewall, or network one. don’t use mac, know on windows there tools can watch communications client out server , back. may see amiss in communications, if in fact somehow don’t find expected requests being logged on server.

let know if helps.

/charlie
