Error: The file Cache Storage is not supported on this platform. - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support
hi,
first, apologies if has been covered. searched , couldn't find answer question, i'm posting here.
i have joomla site, version 3.5.1, it's set use ftp, way can keep file/directories 644 & 755, owner , group being own account rather apache (so, nothing writeable apache...) has been working great, can change global settings , install new extensions no trouble @ all.
i created brand new site, version 3.6.4. i'm using same settings 3.5.1 site (specifically, same ftp , cache settings), i'm not able save changes configuration, nor able install new extensions, error "the file cache storage not supported on platform."
i've tried making "cache" , "administrator/cache" directories writeable, , solves problem, hoping leave read-only, , let ftp handle instead of apache....it seems work fine way on 3.5.1 site i'm not sure why it's not working on 3.6.4.
i'm guessing in updates has prevented working, or maybe there's new setting i'm not aware of?
any insight appreciated. if there no other options keep 2 directories writeable, it, i'm hoping won't necessary.
p.s. file , directory ownership , permissions identical both sites.
thanks in advance.
