Prevent multiple users logging in with same username - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi all.

i'm creating training website user logs in , take training.

here's how have set now.

1. when user set training, put them in group called "intro".
2. user take training , when reach specific page, completes quick form @ end telling learned.
3. asked login can forward them class material next section. (hopefully do)
4. notification form user has completed section.
5. ask them login can move them group "intro" group "section 2", , use extension redirects them upon login menu item section 2 , continue training.

what want avoid user giving username , password else can take training beginning without paying. asking them logout can redirect them when login section of website. if use username else, they'll skip intro section altogether , see section 2.

however, on speaking thinking sending team through training, thought time consuming me of (what happens when i'm away few hours , notification comes through , don't see it...the user signs in , taken beginning again!!)..

they suggested training totally hands off user can come , go through training please.

that's want too...but want avoid username sharing.

is there way prevent happening?

maybe prevent ip address?

any suggestions?

there may way tie usernames ip addresses...

but run risk of alienating users when switch different location or use data phone, etc.

having worked quite few pay-to-learn/play/interact platforms, think risk of username sharing overblown of time.

if in shoes, go simpler, less cumbersome route doesn't tie users ip addresses. if find, indeed, large percentage of users sharing usernames , ruining business model, can move forward developing user plugin ties user's ip address account.
