Thread: 11.10 Too slow after memory upgrade

hi.

have sony vaio vgn-fw170j, standard configuration 4gb ram.

made fresh install 2 days ago, working fine, release good.

today made memory upgrade, laptop have 8gb ram.
bought memory all4memory (8gb ddr2-800 (pc2-6400)). original memory samsung ($gb ddr2-666).

checked in bios, amount correct , boot proceed without hardware issues.

strange happen: ubuntu 11.10 (64bit) boot process became slow, it's been 15 minutes , no gdm has show.

open tty2, login shell slow, `sudo bash`.

checked load , background process, normal. has clue of whats going on?

ps: found this bug, answer yet.

are sure motherboard supports ddr2 800?

similar happened me when used memory of different frequency (133 instead of 100, while ago!)
