Joomla 3.6-to-SQL password glitch - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

we had abandon joomla 2.5.28 3.x migration , instead trying build new website scratch using joomla 3.6. astonished myself succeeding in getting joomla installed new database hosted externally.

however, when tried install akeeba backup morning before daring start writing serious website content got attached sql error. think need resolve before else because if joomla isn't connecting right database right permissions i'm not going able done.

i've tried going through global configuration cannot see anywhere passwords used access database - in joomla?! can't check passwords joomla using see whether they're correct or not if can't find them.

i miss wysiwyg web builders. joomla nightmare comparison.

the database password set during installation , stored in file configuration.php. can edit file directly using example ftp or winscp, depending on client application , access provided host.

the administrator of database server has create user particular 'host' or ip address, shown in error message in format 'username'@'host'. in case host ip address of web server run phpmyadmin application, , presumably joomla use same format.

the database user joomla needs given mysql permissions joomla database.
