multiply sometimes doesnt work

hi there,

im working in  after effects cs6 @ little movie. im making cars move , im trying shadows move seperately.

thes cars animated in own composition , added final composition see alot of cars on highway.

here's question:

each seperate car has own shadowlayer imported seperate psd file.

i multiply these shadow layers using ctrl button on mac , choosing blending mode , choosing multiply.

this works fine of time when have @ final comp (where these cars come together) doesnt , shadow remains standard solid color. compared comps work ones don't , dont see differences @ all.

it work when add shadow layer in final comp.

i tried saving first...or restarting. might bug maybe?

in final comp (this 1 works fine)

thanks screenshots timeline more helpful. shot that's black gives no idea of how using layers or layers using multiply. first guess you're using ray-traced 3d in comp not directly support blend modes. blend modes nothing math , long there's room make calculations blend modes show different color values unless you're setting comp using procedure overrides rendering order or not support math.

please send screenshot of entire composition , timeline ad description of layers can idea of how setting comp. if not using ray-traced rendering in comp there's else going on can guess at.
