Thread: Install acutex without any dependencies or remove it from the update list

hello,

installed texlive 2010 cd auctex , reftex (both compiled source). update manager tells me there update available auctex, when marked installation tries install whole texlive system.

tried command

code:

sudo apt-get install --no-install-recommends auctex

but there 2 packages still selected (preview-latex-style tex-common).

there way mark auctex "local or absolete" in synaptic? or install without any dependencies?

try creating file /etc/apt/preferences.d/no_auctex following content:

package: auctex   pin: version *   pin-priority: -100

this should pin auctex current version , remove apt updates.
