core extensions only update from 2.5.28 to 3.6 failing - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i have site have removed absolutely except core joomla files. prove fact have created 1 minute video showing extension manager, etc. video here if want @ it:

there nothing other files labeled joomla project , few locked items tinymce editor, etc. when run upgrade 2.5.28 3.6 fails

1062 - error has occurred.

duplicate entry '1' key 'primary' sql=insert `#__content_types` etc.

what else should upgrade without errors? did thing deleted old 1.7 sql files prior running upgrade still got error.

sofar, has been problem due max_execution_time, interrupting update.

this assumes #_content_types created last statement. unfortunately, statement wrong! shouldn't contain if not exists. don't know!
