Thread: how to make ubuntu looking in to c: partition

hi, newbie ubuntu. tried install unbutu on 2 windows machines.
however,
on windows7 machine ( have return school soon), ubuntu recognized windows c: disk 80gb file system. can operate folders in it. small d: partition disappeared.

whereas in vista machine, ubuntu looks small partition d: 8.3 gb file system, big c: partition hidden ubuntu.

there can make ubuntu looking in both windows c: , d: partition?
windows 7 result better me.

plus:
desktop looking different. result win7, desktop looking more traditional 3 pull-down menus" application , places, system" on top , firefox icon. vista installation, launcher on left. don't pop luncher bar. can possibly change desktop traditional looking?

first of all: please don't use big fonts. if have bad eyes, enlarge font every site.

now, you're talking hard disks. wubi installation, or normal dual boot? can see output of
code:
sudo parted -l
that show partitions on computers. know ubuntu can possibly mount.

, look, triple menu older version of ubuntu. new 1 one dock on left. can install kinds of desktop environments in ubuntu (e.g. kde, lxde, xfce, gnome-shell, gnome-fallback ...). have different work flow , different design. going triple-menu (the old gnome) interface difficult.
