Thread: black login screen, mouse/keyboard won't respond

toshiba satellite l355-s9700. running ubuntu 11.04 no dual boot linux. after great times getting use using linux happens.... hit power button, bios starts up, enter bios pswd, purple ubuntu sceen comes goes login screen... no sound made. custom background no longer shows (a little paper icon red x does) , login gray box different , keyboard or mouse wont respond. mouse stuck @ lower right corner. show correct date , time @ top middle. have no clue do??? if hit left shift key when starting, let me run shell have no clue how fix in there. please

can boot live cd? if yes, maybe posting contents of syslog, dmesg in /var/log directory may give clue.

when press shift key, option option boot in 'recovery' mode? try , in recovery menu, select 'dpkg' option. try repair broken packages if any. can manually shell by
code:
sudo dpkg --configure -a
from same recovery menu, try boot failsafex see if lets you.

Upgrade 3.4.8 to 3.5.1 failed "download package failed" - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
