gpu geforce gtx 660 oc 2go or ati hd 5870

ram 16 go (2x8go) gskill pc3-10700  (2400 mhz)

motherboard asus p8z77-v pro

ssd samsung pro 256go  defines system (c:\)

premiere element installed on it.

what if have choice buy 1 or 2 hdd 1to sata iii 64mo (6 gbit/s)  ?

i know should put following files in order best performance encode movie in full hd.

- movie source files

- premiere element temp files

- output (final movie file)

the tradition hdds spread them out on multiple drives prevent input/output drive bottlenecks.  of article in adobe libraries (that i've found) aimed @ users workstations have multiple hard drives , various backup systems.  few articles have mentioned ssds apparently have not been considered trustworthy.

i have new asus i7 laptop , happy creating new folder each project , putting in folder.  create folder, put copies of media plan use in it, start new project , double check in preferences scratch disks set "same project".

since use ssd work drive, hdd storage , less significant software installations.  @ 7200 rpm relatively fast, not important way manage video projects.

at output near 1:1 render times, unless there significant use of effects , multiple video tracks.

the laptop has 7200 rpm hdd.  tried various suggestions spreading out source, temp , output files , got no noticeable improvements in performance.  so, if choose manage projects do, not matter hdd buy.

when project complete move entire folder drive storage , on yet drive.  if want work on project, can move entire folder ssd.  find convenient.
