hello ubuntu people. after spending whole day trying resolve wi-fi card troubles on own, gave up. here i'm..
wlan0: interface doesn't support scanning : network down
i'm stuck. wlan interface doesn't want start , @ all. of how-to's on internet 2 (and more) years old.

where/when did see this: "wlan0: interface doesn't support scanning : network down"

far can make out, wireless adapter based on rt2600, has been supported "out of box" 4 years.

using unity interface? have network manager icon on panel? when right-click on it, offered "edit connections" option? router use wpa? know ssid? password?
