Menu disappeared and locked params.ini file - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

i manage content updates small nonprofit organization's website powered joomla! 1.5.22.

this morning received message client website menu disappeared. checked make sure menu still there in backend (it is). googling suggests menu settings found in template manager. login backend , take @ template manager settings , see this:



i assume reason why menu isn't appearing on site because of message there, although not sure if error message or not. see params.ini file writing error. reason why menu cannot assign default template (or normal)?

i have no experience managing joomla (i'm more of wordpress guy) , appreciate guidance. in advance!

i not have server access yet site (am working on getting - right can explain client server , web hosting is).

firstly joomla! 1.5.22 insecure , you've told world of site can hack easily. i'd update joomla! @ least 1.5.28.

secondly log path needs settings in configuration.php file.

check permissions of paramus file in template.

lastly, check menu exists in menus , have menu module published?
