Thread: lubuntu clean install verses desktop inviroment on ubuntu

hi all, wondering if benefit between stand alone lubuntu install verses adding desk environment ubuntu. have done both ways, , don't seem notice difference in speed, difference see on desk top environment have ubuntu app available.
thoughts?

ps. i'm not using kind of app. see difference in speed it,s observation, , i'm not trying split hairs.
think mite have put in wrong category, sorry.

i interested in experiment. got fed clean install of lubuntu. prefer have ubuntu desktop, & have performed upgrade ubuntu 11.10 install cd. installed nicely , smoothly, need make leaner faster. considering downloading lubuntu desktop synaptic.

however, need install synaptic first 11.10 don't we? pain. terminal command:

apt-get install synaptic package manager

doesn't want know! why oh why did oneirics leave out synaptic? essential.

Upgrade 3.4.8 to 3.5.1 failed "download package failed" - Joomla! Forum - community, help and support

hi -- after after loading files of joomla 3.5 program, went site , tried open complete installation. got message: fatal error: require_once(): failed opening required '/homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/libraries/import.legacy.php' (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php5.5') in /homepages/37/d199794875/htdocs/gnustories/includes/framework.php on line 15 ran fpa program. hope way make available here. http://gnustories.org/fpa-en.php winku your domain name seems not working - not showing fpa report php page holding page generated isp (1 & 1) the easier way generate report fpa script , copy reply of thread (that intended way done). suggest review instructions on generating report makes format suitable forum.
